Ceramic coating in Sacramento, looking for honest input before I commit
Thinking about getting a ceramic coating done on my daily driver here in Sacramento. Never paid for one before and the price range is pretty wide. Has anyone gone through this recently with reasonable timelines and no weird surprises after pickup? Trying to set realistic expectations.

From what I have gathered while reading around, ceramic coating is basically a liquid polymer that bonds to the clear coat and adds a harder, more hydrophobic layer on top. It is not magic, the paint can still get scratched, but water beads off, dust does not stick as aggressively, and washing becomes noticeably less of a chore. UV resistance is the part I personally care about given how brutal summers get here. Prices around town seem to start near seven hundred dollars for entry level packages, and I saw similar numbers on car ceramic coating services listed by a local shop, with multi year warranty options depending on the package. Worth checking what the warranty actually covers before paying, since some only apply if you follow specific wash routines.
For a beginner I would say do not chase the cheapest quote, ask how long the cure time is, whether they do paint correction first, and request photos of past jobs on darker colors where flaws show up easily.
